One space, four uses

CASE OF STUDY

This is a singular project. In the same space there are four types of work situations for the same company. The company is the non-conformist TIMEOUT Barcelona. The space it supposed to be in a classroom on the fourth floor at Elisava University.

The four spaces are developed throughout this project are: Production space, Common services, Appropriation spaces and the last but not less important, Space of concentration.

PRODUCTION SPACE

"La Diagonal"

In this space, different jobs are demanding, open and closed, individual and in groups. A potential occupancy of this area it's around of 44 jobs at the same time, which admits complementation with temporary work and meeting areas.

The space is beeing designed with a large table, which distributed the room while it's being complemented with meeting boxes. On the other hand, it will generate a terrace of great dimension destined to the disconnection or serendipity.

At the same time, two focal points are projected to extremes such as casual meetings and printing space.

COMMON SERVICES

"La vila de Grácia"

On this second use, meeting rooms (formal and informal), conference area and trainings are requiered.

An important point will be to leave space for diffusion, exposure and rest. Temporary or transit work areas are not exclusive.

Ongoing with the idea of a large central table, in this floor it will distributed orthogonally however with a large block on the central space breaks the constancy while allowing us to generate different spaces interconnected between them.

We could see an entrance area, meeting room, large terrace as well as a small out-indoor steps.

APPROPRIATION SPACES

"Ciutat Vella"

In this floor, the spaces of appropriation and informal meeting formed by In between, Serendipia, Exhibition, Agora and Touchdown. At the same time, it will admit complementation with operational jobs, or concentration areas.

In order to be able to develop the entire program, a central essence it is generated, which agglutinates several uses at the same time. This essence it is none other than the kitchen. Place meanwhile you are cooking, you can chat, do an informal meetings or even work, which it is composed with great island.

Also, the whole room it is set up by a large terrace divided in two parts in order to maintain the necessary private space between variant working meetings.

CONCENTRATION

"El Paral·lel"

On the last floor, we could find spaces for Concentration, Isolation, One to one, Brain storming, Think Tank, Focus room or a simple space to disconnect analog or digital.

It will be develop with a large table complemented with several boxes which give different degrees of privacy.

The terrace it is composed with two cubes. One of a glass and another totally opaque. Thus, the use of all spaces are linked to the worker requirements.
