At the Raval, Barcelona

The project takes place in the Raval district of Barcelona. A mixed program of housing and some equipment’s or workshops, take the advantage of the central courtyards to lean on those walls without windows and generate new facades. It seeks continuity while giving new public spaces to a very dense neighborhood.

It is an inclined skyscraper that folds according to the current layout of the buildings. To generate new public spaces it is a point of reference in this project, as well as incorporating new equipment for the neighborhood such as workshops for artists, stores for collecting cash for the neighborhood or small shops, or a new meeting room for the neighborhood as well.

THE ROUTE

NEIGHBORHOOD

It is located in the heart of Barcelona, as dense, miscellaneous and multicultural neighborhood and it is called the Raval.

This project involves in this context. More concretely you could discover the Raval between "La Rambla del Raval" and "Josep M. Folc i Torres" Square.

From the beginning, you could find a lack of pedestrian continuity and for this reason, the project, as a gear, connects both sides already mentioned. So, the building guides you along the street and shows you different spaces and various establishments and facilities.
